Harold or Harry Peachy was born in Bristol and enlisted in Bury. He joined the Lancashire Fusiliers as a regular soldier and fought with the 1st Battalion at Gallipoli in 1915. He was killed in the attack from the Sunken Lane at Beaumont Hamel on 1st July 1916 when the battalion came under heavy machine gun fire.
