Accommodation Details
Situated
in the quiet village of Hardecourt aux Bois at the point where the British
and French Armies launched into The Battle of the Somme and fought side by
side. The Billets are ideally situated for exploring the heart of the
Somme battlefields. The Farm is within walking distance of some of the
most infamous battlefield sites, including Guillemont, Maltz Horn Farm,
Trones and Bernafay Woods to name but a few. Delville Wood is four minutes
and Thiepval the Ulster Tower and Albert are just fifteen minutes by car.
The Farm has
three separate billets available on a self catering basis. Chavasse House,
the old farm house has four large bedrooms and can sleep up to ten people.
Recently the old farm stables have been renovated and converted into Coury
House and Dupres house both have two bedrooms and can each sleep up to
four people. Each Billet has its own patio area with barbecue. Or you can
spend the evening on the raised terrace with BBQ, overlooking the
countryside.
Next to the
terrace in one of the farms old outhouses it has been converted into a
small bar ‘The Rum Ration’, with its open wood fire and sand-bag bar,
it is decorated with hundreds of pieces of Great War memorabilia.
