Paul Reed is a leading military
historian, who specialises in the two World Wars. He has been visiting
battlefields all over Europe for more than thirty years, and lived on
the Somme for over a decade. He has worked as a researcher and
Battlefield Guide, and is the author of several books on WW1. Paul also regularly contributes to BBC TV programmes, such as
Timewatch, Meet The Ancestors
and Who Do You Think You Are.
He is currently working on several books
about WW2 and a revised edition of his Walking
The Somme.
In 2008 Paul worked on Last
Day of WW1, a BBC Timewatch where he worked with
broadcaster Michael Palin. He was also Historical
Consultant for My Family At War, which was shown
to great critical acclaim on BBC1 in November 2008. His
latest TV projects have been on the US Version of Who
Do You Think You Are and for the final series of
Timewatch a programme entitled Aces Falling,
looking at VC winners Mick Mannock and James McCudden.
This was screened on BBC2 in March 2009. His latest TV
projects related to WW2 Battlefield Archaeology.
